Sun in Virgo, Moon in Aries: "I'm the unknown Virgo who makes Leo such a star. . ."

I’ve gotten a couple questions via email on how I come up with titles for the Sun/Moon profiles I write. Often what happens is I hear a line from a song or the title of a tv show or movie and think to myself, “I wonder what Sun/Moon profile that line would be?” Example: While surfing YouTube I came across the old Fall Guy theme where Lee Majors sings, “I’m the unknown stuntman who makes Redford such a star,” I thought to myself, “Well Aries is the stuntman of the zodiac while Virgo is the sign most likely to work anonymously. Virgo Sun, Aries Moon is thus a pretty good pick for the Sun/Moon pairing most likely to find work as an “unknown stuntman”.

That led to the Virgo Sun, Aries Moon article entitled “The Unknown Stuntwoman” about Shelley Beattie (aka “Siren” from the American Gladiators show) and Cassandra Petterson (aka “Elivra: Mistress of the Dark”). Both women had careers involving instincts for high risk stunts (Aries) even as they remained largely anonymous (Virgo) when not in their costumes. Beattie did actual stunts with her physical body while if making a career out of dressing up as Elvira: Mistress of the Dark doesn’t count as a pulling off a major “stunt” I’m not sure what does. Ironically enough, Mrs. Petterson once made an appearance in full Elvira get-up on an episode of The Fall Guy:

In traditional astrology Leo is the movie star or the member of royalty who gets all the attention while Virgo, the sign following Leo, is the handmaiden who gets to anonymously clean up after Leo. When Lee Majors sings, “I’m the unknown stuntman who makes Redford such a star” he is essentially saying, “I’m the unknown Virgo who makes Leo such a star.”

As far as the Virgo/Aries pairing and “Unknown Stuntwomen” go, I was perusing the Planet Waves website recently and came across an analysis of sex educator Betty Dodson’s chart. Turns out she too is a Virgo Sun, Aries Moon. Dodson is best known for writing Sex for One, a pioneering (Aries) book about masturbation, a practice most often done anonymously (Virgo). Here is an interview where Dodson explains how, in true “Fall Guy” fashion, a cab driver crashed his cab with her in it when she told him what she did for a living:

Dodson didn’t “fall out of a tall building or jump an open drawbridge” like Lee Majors sings in the Fall Guy theme but she definitely took some major chances writing a book about masturbation at the time she did. That certainly gets her membership in the “Unknown Stuntwoman” club.
